Seminar
This seminar is a 3-day focus on Jazz and Popular music with Jon Sass. Also on board with the keyboard is Nikola Stanosevic. This is a unique opportunity for instrumentalists to develop skills and ensemble playing. This course is ideal for hobbyists and young musicians. Learning begins with a focus on the theoretical basics in harmony, melodic and bass line phrasings, improvisation, and approaching simple chord structures. We will work with Jazz and Popular music standards as well as my own published literature. The focus is on the importance of listening to recordings and the importance of hearing all instruments in the listening experience. At the end of the course, we will have a concert! Be prepared to be inspired!
