If everyone were to follow you, where would you lead them?
Creative Impulse is a platform I created to facilitate developmental workshops, concepts, curricula and coaching. It reflects years of experience playing in diverse musical situations and environments and is structured to a blueprint for reaching group or individual goals. Using creativity to uncover one’s inner strengths can effectively inspire (Self-value, Acceptance, Awareness, and Discipline). One way is to provide an experiential and informative context in an environment that enables the student/participant to react and confidently become self-aware. CI can prove essential for creating opportunities. Reflecting the growing diversity and current changes in our world can be best realized when efforts are created with an all-inclusive frame regarding music genres, cultures, and generations. “The characteristics of the individual becomes characteristic of the group, but members need not lose their individuality. A group is one with a group consciousness.”

This was more inspiring than words allow. Jon’s workshop stresses the importance of finding your own creative voice, and applying it to your practice, performance, composition, freelancing and recording. From solo CD projects, live performances, to compositions, no one is more versatile, imaginative and on the forefront of the tuba scene than Jon Sass. Jon truly is a great artist who happens to play the tuba and does so with virtuosity. The students who participated in this workshop walked away with a new enthusiasm for music, and a greater sense of direction with which to take their careers. Jon provides the tools for these students to grow as an artist, both musician and performer. What more could anyone ask for in a workshop. Jon, you set a fire beneath all of my students and provided invaluable inspiration and guidance. Sass WOW! It was a HUGE success leaving everyone a bit drained, but with recharged creative batteries. This was a workshop that is unprecedented in my experience. The energy and knowledge that Sass brings to the project are unparalleled and his deep humanity connected immediately with all participants.
