PENN STATE HOWARD JOHNSON JAZZ TUBA RESIDENCY
Last year, at the beginning of April, I was awarded the first HOWARD JOHNSON JAZZ TUBA RESIDENCY at PENN STATE UNIV. Velvet Brown and her amazing Tuba studio were fantastic young tuba players to work with, and I’m continuing the workshop from the event – FROM THE BOTTOM UP. The focus is on playing bass with tuba and the creative possibilities from a bass perspective. Before starting the residency, I had a 3-day presentation at the EASTMAN SCHOOL OF MUSIC.
